The CAP Conference series is dedicated to bringing together astronomy communicators from around the world. Founded by a group of passionate astronomers and communicators, the series has a mission to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding and share the wonders of astronomy through effective outreach.
The CAP Conference is organised every two years by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), through Commission 2 — Communicating Astronomy with the Public. The IAU has more than 10,000 active members in 98 countries worldwide and its mission is to promote and safeguard the science of astronomy in all its aspects through international cooperation.
Over two decades, CAP conferences have facilitated the exchange of ideas and best practices. The conference helps strengthen the local community of professionals by connecting them to the global network with a diverse range of stakeholders. Our conferences attract participants from various backgrounds, aiming to create a collaborative environment for all.
CAP2026 in Armenia will be a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with colleagues in the Central Asia and the Middle East, as well as worldwide astronomy communication communities.
